Week 2 At Home | Northern VA Storytelling Photographer

Hey there!

Alright, here we go for week 2. This week at home has been interesting in more than one ways. But I’ve made a point to find the good. We did a lot of art (again), bubbles & we got our garden up and running. Yay! This week was both very challenging, while being filled with so much joy. My very best friend had her sweet baby this week and not being able to be there to document it truly was heart wrenching for him. But by the same token I am absolutely SO thrilled for her and her family and I’m grateful for technology. And we did have lovely weather. I say this to say, remember that sometimes things you’re seeing are highlight reels. Remember to check in on your family and friends. This is a difficult and unpredictable time. But I want you guys too know…it’s important to document your family. Right now. As you are. If something is holding you back, what is it? Push through that. You can do this!

A few fun things we did this week with are were, tulips on paper. Super simple… Set up paint on a plate (or however you’d like), grab a fork for each color, a piece of paper… Draw the stems to the tulips and the press the fork on top. I actually saw this lovely idea in a group I’m in and loved it! We also did a lot of nature this week. We used leaves to color one side with washable markers and then pressed them down and rubbed them onto a piece of paper. It’s a fun, simple, nature inspired project. But mostly I think it’s so important, especially right now, to HAVE FUN! I’m doing everything I can to make sure that we find many ways to be grateful during our days right now and how to have fun. Also, a fun side note. I’m offering all gift certificates booked for in home sessions in the future at 25% off! Email me anytime for information.
