Our First Week At Home | Northern Virginia Storytelling Photographer

Alright friends. Let start this post off… well very honest. This past week or so, life has taken such a drastic turn. We, our friends, and everyone, have been rocked by this virus. The sudden need to stay home, businesses closing (please check on your fellow small business owners!), the fear of getting sick, the sudden switch to homeschooling (for some of you) has be incredibly difficult. The uncertainty of it all alone is enough to cause a constant state of worry. I want to start by saying we are staying home. We ARE social distancing and I urge everyone else to do the same. With all of that being said… I want to also encourage us to all breathe, soak in this time with our loved ones (even if it’s hard), document this time, because it is and will be a part of our lives and it deserves to be documented as well. I want to also say, you are not alone. We are all in this together. If you are struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out… to me, to loved ones, to friends, to whoever it may be.

I’ve decided that each day I will be taking images of our time together. I want to document this time, but also it is so therapeutic for me. I also have continued to write in my journal, reach out to loved ones & snuggle my babes. So. Here’s our week one. It wasn’t perfect, but that’s ok. We homeschooled (so grateful that this is something we do normally & if you want any ideas don’t hesitate to ask), did a ton of art projects, a lot of reading, board games and played in our backyard for hours each day. For starters we made our own stationary, our own water colored envelopes, paper rainbows, planet earth, etc. We had a lot of laughter, tears & fun amidst all this craziness. I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of what we did and/or are doing throughout this blog series. So stay tuned!
