{Little Miss Lottie}

{A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.}   – Agatha Christie
Lottie and her mommy are absolutely beautiful.  Let’s start with that.  These two are fun, funny and sweet.
I have the best ‘job’ in the world.  I put job in quotes because truly photography is my passion.  One of the many reasons it’s my passion is I love being able to capture a moment in time.  A moment that, as hard as anyone tries, will never be that exact moment again.  I love capturing and telling you and your family’s story.  I love hearing your story.  And the most beautiful thing is, everyone has a story.  Everyone.  Today I want to share a small part of Emily and Lottie’s story, with her permission of course.  Emily first contacted me a few weeks ago when she saw an ad I had posted regarding Milestone Mini Sessions.  She told me that her little one was just over three months and she wanted to capture that.  I was so excited, as I always am.  :).  I promptly responded and said I’d love to help and did she have a date in mind.  She responded with some date ideas and towards the end of her message stated, ‘ And FYI – I’m a single mom, so it would just be me with my daughter 🙂‘.  My first thought was, hats off to you!!!  Then I was immediately intrigued.  I’ve never had someone come right out and say they’re a single mom, just because.  But hey!  Just another story to tell right?!  So fast forward to our session and Emily and I were chatting, it had rained the couple days before when we were supposed to do our shoot so we were just hoping it would turn out for just enough time to do our session.  We were chatting and I told her how amazing I thought it was that she was a single mom and what a good job she is doing.  She then proceeded to tell me that she was what they call a ‘choice mom’.  She hadn’t been married, but knew she wanted a child.  So she decided to get pregnant and be a single mom and to be a wonderful, loving, hard working mom.  She had beautiful miss Lottie.  I can’t tell you how touched I was by this.  What an amazing act of love.  What an amazing act of courage.  AND what an amazing example of how strong women are.  Emily, you amaze me.  You and Lottie are absolutely beautiful and you wear motherhood so well!  I am so looking forward to Lottie’s 6 month shoot already and can’t wait to see what life has in store for you two!  <3.  ejh5ejhDSC_0877ejh1DSC_0815ejh7ejh2
