I’ve known Amie for about eight years now, she is a very dear friend to me. I will never forget the day she called me and squealed on the other end telling me she was expecting. There was a brief silence… Then we both just squealed. At the time I was just a few months ahead of her with my third. I was so thrilled for Amie and Tom, and I knew how excited they were too. Immediately Amie and I started thinking about ideas for a shoot. I was lucky enough to be able to capture Amie’s growing belly in a maternity shoot and just recently had the privilege of shooting little miss Madison. Capturing some of Madison’s first moments was something very special. There is something so magical in photographing newborns. Amie chose to do both her maternity and newborn session in my studio. When they arrived I had the studio prepared with a lot of props out and nice and toasty. Shortly after arriving Madison woke up and gently cried for her mom. As I sat there with Amie nursing her, we got to chat about her birthing experience and how Madison was adjusting to life, and Amie of course. We both came to the conclusion that who are kidding? Moms are always on their little one’s time. Haha. After nursing Madison back to sleep, Amie picked a few things she liked and I got started. The laughter and love in the room that day truly touched me.
Amie, Madison is so beautiful and I can’t wait to watch her grow! Thank you again, for letting me be part of such a special time.
